Send the ticket from blue supply box to the red supply box.
Send the ticket from blue supply box to the red supply box.
This is the emergency quest in the Village ★★ Quests.
You're probably too exhausted to find the three フルフルベビー (Furu Furu Babies) needed by the time you read this. They can be found on top of area 8. To get there you will need go through the narrow tunnel right after you came in from area 6. You will then have to climb all the way to the top and use a pickaxe (ボロピッケル) to mine for it, so it's a good idea to carry more of them just in case. You'll only be allowed to carry one フルフルベビー at a time, so plenty of running here.
A repeat of quest 7 in the Village ★★ Quests. Kill 10 Brangos, they can be found in area 6, 7 and 8. (Dosgenepos) is here waiting for you as well.
This is the quest unlocked once you tamed the same monster, (Daimyou Zazami) in Quest 10. The strategy is the same here though the thick jungle probably make it slightly harder. The giant crab will move in area 2, 3 and 9, which is the resting place as well.
Probably the hardest monster so far in the game, it's (Ganototos) again but with green color and probably slightly stronger than the one in the desert. It swims between area 3 and 4 but getting it out of water can be tough sometimes.
Health drinks and food are probably the more important items to carry here. What make this harder is the thick forest, there is alway something that's blocking your view.
The monster has many ways of hurting you big time, spraying water, stepping on you and running over you are all killer. My strategy here is to wait for it to jump out of water, hit him while he is making his turn, but don't get too excited here as it's almost certain that it will either sprint suddenly or perform a low attack.
It's probably risky but standing slightly behind its feet and attack is the most effective way and if you are lucky, it won't hurt you at all. Besides that, it's better if you attack him from the side, especially when he is spraying water or making a turn.
(Yaozami), they are in the coastal areas (3, 4, 9 and 10). (Baba Konga) is in the quest too.
This quest will be unlocked once quest 12 (or quest 11 before the unlock) is done. ゲリョス亜種(紫) is basically a stronger version of ゲリョス (Geryos) in quest 12, so the same strategy applies. He will appears in area 5 and 6.
(Daimyou Zazami), it's a giant crab in the desert map. This will unlock the jungle version of the exact same monster, so the order and numbering of the quests may not be the same for some.
Daimyou Zazami moves mostly in the desert areas of the map, first timer will meet him at area 9 (which is his resting area too). Other areas are 1, 2, 3 and 5. (Dosgaleos), it tunnels underground and it's hard to guess where it goes, so the paintballs are a must here, so are cool drinks.
Its attacks look unpredictable if you meet him for the first time as unlike other monsters, it turns (or it don't need to turn at all) much quicker and you probably mistaken it's back for the head. It normally chases and try to claws at you, the best way to avoid this is to stand still until it comes close enough and you should then turn abruptly to evade its claws.
Two of its attacks are your better chances to hurt it as well. First when he blows out those white liquid with its claws wide open (be careful not to go in too early or its claws will hit you), you will have a good chance to hit its head. The second chance is when it takes a huge leap (again, be sure to not get too near), you should be able to get one or two hits from that.
You are in for a great troubles whenever it starts tunneling and try to pops up right underneath you, throwing you meters up and eating up most of your health. The best way to avoid this is to turn abrubtly again and move behind the spot when it starts digging.
I haven't find out about other weapons yet, but it's really helpful if you have an upgraded Great Sword that comes with thunder effects. If you manage to get a head hit, it will stuns the monster for a while and therefore creating plenty of openings for you.
(Ganototos), the giant monster in the rivers of the desert. This can be tricky, unless you are a gunner or archer, there seems to be no way of hitting him while he is under water. The best way is to wait or throw the sonic bombs for him to jump out of water and since his movement is not unlike (Dosgaleos) in Quest 16 of the 2 Stars Quest, there shouldn't be much problem. And the fact that he moves between area 6 and 7 only helps a lot.
It's better to bring more hot drinks (ホットドリンク) than anything else here. And avoid over attack as unlike Dosgaleos, he has higher chance of hitting you even though you are right underneath him. Another thing to notice is never standing in front of the monster, if he hit you while running, you will be seeing the stars and unable to move.
(Genepos), they are easy to find in the desert map with plenty more in area 6 once you clear the rest of the areas (1, 3, 4 & 10). (Dosgenepos) is around here as well, so kill him and carved for important materials.
(Geryos) is easy to fight if you make the right preparation because most of the times it just stand still, either when it attack you with poison or unleashed the blinding light or when it needs to take a breather. Getting armors that prevent you from fainting (気絶無效) is almost half the job done as you have plenty of time to attack it when it produce the blinding lights.
The monster moves in area 2, 4 and sometimes 6 but it is better to avoid fighting in area 4 as there are spots of poisonous water that will drain your health over time. I find waiting at area 2 makes the quest a lot easier. The items obtained from it are useful for making poisonous weapons, so it's a quest that worth revisit.
(Yian Kut-ku) is back here, only stronger and spots a nice green skin. Go meet him at area 4, be careful with the pools of poisonous water in the area, it's alway useful to bring a few bottles of Antidote (解毒薬) to the swamp at night. The monster's movement areas are 4, 7, 8 and 2, where it rest if you beat him too hard. The strategy against him is the same as earlier.
Another Village ★★ Quests returns, check out my earlier strategy against ババコンガ (Baba Konga) here. His movement areas are 4 and 7, the latter is where he rest when he is getting really weak.
The larger version of those annoying but poisonous orange colored monsters, (Dosios) is slightly easier to deal with among the medium size monsters. It's attacks are limited to mainly jump and poison liquid, both of which reveal plenty of chances for you to counter attack. The main areas will be 4 and 5, it will start a tour of the map after a while, going from 4 > 5 > 6 > 8 and finally back at 4 or 5 again. So it's better to clear the little monsters in 4 or 5 and wait for him to come over.
(Yian Kut-ku) again, this time in the familiar ground of Forest & Hills. MHP owners should remember the exact same quest in that version as well.
The big bird moves quite a bit, the areas are 2, 4, 9, 10 and 5, which is it's resting place. Area 9 and 10 will probably pose some problems for those unfamiliar with the map, as you can easily get cornered due to the small spaces and the many trees and leaves, not to mention thiefs in the form of cats in area 9. Check out my ealier strategy against the monster here.
Send another 10 special mushrooms (特産キノコ) to the red supply box and you are done. They can be found in area 3 and 10. This quest will unlock the emergency quest for the Village ★★★ Quests.
(Emergency Quest)
This is obviously the toughest monster so far in the game. (Snow Lion) is another monster from Monster Hunter 2 and the leader of Brangos. You will meet him for the first time in area 8, it will then "fly" to area 6, 7 and 3. The latter is his resting place.
Its has around 5 attacking moves, most of them hurtful or take time to gather yourself. One that I really hate is when it starts digging the snow only to burst out right underneath you like ダイミョウザザミ (Daimyou Zazami). However, most of it's attacks are straight line, so its really ill advised to stand on its way. Another things I struggle against him is it jumps quite a lot, hence its difficult to hit him unless you really studied it's movements.
Preparation is half the battle won here, bring plenty of health potion, food, hot drinks, traps, power seed, paintballs and weapons that has fire or thunder effects. It worth noting that it knows how to wipe off your paintballs, but there are only 4 areas to track him, so shouldn't be big worries here.
