Nekooto 7 Star Quests
闇夜のブルファンゴ討伐
Kill 20 Bullfango (ブルファンゴ ) at night in the swamp. The areas to look for them are 4, 8, 6 and 5, you’ll have to visit area 8 and 6 twice to get more of them. Their leader, the giant Dosfango (ドスファンゴ) wonders in the map as well, so good time to calve some items for your armors.
ファミ通 奇面族の宴
Kill 15 Chachabu (チャチャブー) in the sandy arena. Now this can be a complicated task if you want to kill the King Chachabu (キングチャチャブー) which will pops up after you made 10 kills. I failed miserable at this so can’t give it a guide on how to beat him yet. You will probably have no problems against the smaller Chachabu, just bring some power juices (強走薬) and flash bombs (閃光玉) to make your task much easier.
肉食竜だらけ!
Another busy task in the little arena. Slay 20 Ranpos (ランポス) and you’re done, if you’re rushing to get it done, they are the blue colored raptors, otherwise this is perfect quest for calving.
女王虫の羽音

Kill a Queen Rangosta (クイーンランゴスタ), the giant mosquito-like insect in the jungle. However, you won’t be able to see it until you kill enough Rangosta (ランゴスタ), the small but annoying mosquitoes. I would recommend a blade & shield for this and bring lots of poison smoke bombs (毒けむり玉) and throw one when you’re surrounded by Rangosta, they will die slowly and also allows you to calve some useful items. As for Queen Rangosta, tries to stay behind it as much as possible, this is easy when you have Otomo Ailu but probably harder if alone, thankfully it doesn’t has much health.
極秘依頼 眠鳥を狩れ!

This is the Emergency Quest to unlock the Upper Class quests. Capture a Hipknock (ヒプノック) in the extremely beautiful new map Jyukai. The weapons of choice are those with fire elemental damage. Although it doesn’t seem to moves around the map a lot, some paint balls (ペイントボール) are useful as always. The area to unlock it is 4, it will then move to 5 and when it’s really weak, area 7. Use either Pitfall Trap (落とし穴) or Stun Trap (シビレ罠) to catch it, like most monsters, the best time to do so is when it’s limping or goes to sleep.
Hipknock reminds me very much of Yian Kut-ku (イァンクック) as they share many attacking moves. The few special attacks that Hipknock has can be hurtful though, especially the jumping attacks that seems to follow wherever you run. The sleeping gas attack is its trademark attack but it’s not hard to escape and even if it does hit you, chances are you’ll be awaken by the smaller monsters in the area pretty quickly. Breaking its beak will brings about special items. However, the monster is hyper active, so some flash bombs (閃光玉) or the stun trap (シビレ罠) should create the openings for you.
Once this quest is done, the new world of offline Upper Class Quests await.
焼けつく砂丘

Dosgaleos (ドスガレオス) awaits in the Old Desert. It will “swim” between area 1, 2 and 3, but paint balls are still useful. Don’t forget sonic bombs (音爆弾) to get it out of sand and cold drinks (クーラードリンク) for the heat. Finally, a weapon with ice and thunder elemental damage will make this a lot easier.

盗まれて旧沼地

Capture the hyper active Geryos (ゲリョス) in the old swamp. Bring a weapon of fire elemental damage and preferably armors that prevent you from being blinded by the monster’s flash attack (気絶無効). It travels a lot between area 5 and 9. Wait till it’s struggle to move to capture it. Only Pitfall Trap (落とし穴) is useful against Geryos and there ain’t that many place you can set it up. The only place is where it sleeps. It’s new attack in MHP 2ndG is the tail whip that seems to stretch much longer than possible.
紫色の毒怪鳥
Capture the sub species of Geryos (ゲリョス) in the swamp. Area 4 and 8 are its main movement areas and when it’s really weak, it will travel to area 2 to sleep.
狙われたバサルモス
Capture the stony Basarumos (バサルモス) in the old swamp. Preparation is key here since there is no items given early in the quest. Bring hot drinks (ホットドリンク), antidotes (解毒薬), whetstones (the thing is harder than rock), flash bombs (閃光玉), both kind of traps will works and lots of bombs if you have them. Weapons with water and dragon elemental damage will helps more.
In the map, Basarumos will almost only stay in area 7, so unless you want to do some sightseeing or calve some useful items, just head to the top of map. The monster will disguise itself as a rock and if you go too near, it will send you flying. The best way is to throw some knife or best still lure your Ailu Otomo into attacking it. When it’s alive, and as with most monsters “transferred” from MHP 2nd, it spots a couple of new attacking style.
This could be a long battle unless you bring with you some bombs because there are simply not many soft spots on Basarumos’ body apart from its stomach, which is unsafe since the monster like to charge at you. Although it’s not as effective, you can still beat it by hitting other parts of the body at the cost of having to use the whetstones more often.
旧密林に走る稲妻
Capture a Furu Furu (フルフル) in the old jungle. Most of it’s movement areas are between 8 and 9 although it does occasionally make a quick travel around the map. There is a recovery spot for it in Area 10, this would be the right moment to set up your trap.
Remember to bring hot drinks (ホットドリンク) as you’ll do a lot of fighting in the cave and stun trap (シビレ罠) is needed to capture it. Weapons of fire elemental damage are useful, and armors that are shock resistance will reduce the damage when hit by it’s blue colored shock waves attacks.
I struggled a bit here, simply because this is a much tougher Furu Furu and when it enters rage mode, the relentless attacks are hard to avoid. But as usual, hitting its head whenever possible is the best option.
雪山に降り立つ赤い影

Another Furu Furu, it’s a red-colored sub-species in the snow mountains this time. Preparation is, obviously, key to success in any 7-starred quests now. I didn’t mentioned this in the quests above, but I alway bring a farcaster (モドリ玉) to these quests. The teleporter is great when you need to go back to the base camp for recovery or pick up items when supplies arrived in the Item Box.
I alway struggle against Furu Furu, and this particular Furu Furu is even harder due to it constantly wrapping itself with the electric shock. I think I’m going to use guns or bows for any future encounters with Furu Furu. Its movement areas are mostly 6 and 7 in the beginning with 1 and 3 the other stops later.
It is quest like this that makes Monster Hunter such a satisfying game. I went in this quest not well-prepared, with limited health items and constantly being “shocked” due to carelessness and eagerness. I tried to hit or charged hit its head with my great sword hoping to quickly end this but this Furu Furu is not your normal slow moving Furu Furu in the lower class quests. The monster turns quickly and wrap itself with the electric waves constantly, and when it became angry, its agressive level became insane.
With only one life left, no health items and less than 90 seconds to go, I went on to set up stun trap (シビレ罠) but was forced to watch my useless naugthy Otomo Ailu keep drawing the monster’s attention away from me. Finally, with literally seconds left, it turns towards me and step on to the trap. Although it has been in rage mode several times, it still looks strong and it is with the sad thought of having to revisit this quest again that I threw two capture bombs (捕獲用麻酔玉) at the monster. So imagine how it feels when I saw the animation of the monster slowly falling down and the victory music fade in.

ババコンガ強襲!
Capture a pair of Baba Konga (ババコンガ) in the swamp. You won’t immediately win the quest after you kill/capture both of them. You’ll have to return to the camp, pick up a ticket from the blue items box and put it in the red items box. Weapons of choice are those with fire or water elemental.
ダイミョウザザミ大発生!
A pair of Daimyou Zazami (ダイミョウザザミ) in the jungle, most likely in area 3 and 4 or when it’s weak, will goes to area 9. One of it’s new attack is to jump up and lands on or somewhere around you. It took me a while to get used to this and even get killed early in the quest for this. But my Great Sword with the fire elemental proves too strong for them. The trick is actually to avoid over killed here as capturing will yields more rewards. You probably want to prepare your trap after it stumble for the second time or whenever it enters area 9.
密林 大連続狩猟!

Hunt down a Yian Kut-ku (イャンクック) and then Daimyou Zazami (ダイミョウザザミ) in the jungle again. Yian Kut-ku will come out first and Daimyou Zazami will then come out in most probably area 3. The resting place is 6 for the former and 9 for the latter.
I’m really familiar with these two fellas by now so this can’t possibly cause any problems if you have reach this stage as well. Also keep in mind that killing the small monsters will give you food and possibly health items.
