New Elements
MHP 2nd Save Data Transfer
Everything that is non game breaking will be carried over. And that includes sex change :) Armors specific to a genre will be changed accordingly. Non transferable armors can be converted to money.
G-Class Quests

Where the “G” from the game’s title came from. G-class quests are one step ahead of the highest class in MHP 2nd, the Upper Class and obviously are very difficult. However, players must do enough of Upper Class quests before they can take on these quests. G-Class is also only available in the Guild Hall, there is a new girl (picture above) giving out those risky quests.
Upper Class Quests

Previously only available in Guild Hall, new and old Upper Class quests can now be found in the Village Elder Quests too. On the other hand, the total number of quests will be 1.5 times more than MHP 2nd. The producer also hints at a new type of challenge will be available, it will be something along the line of the previously available dual monsters in the same quest. A new Ailu, Nekooto will hands out those new quests in place of the Village Elder. Weekly Famitsu says the cat sounds a little cocky… Screens of Nekooto handing out quests in this report.
New Quest Rule

MHP players will be familiar with most of the quest rules now, they are either items gathering, transporting items, fighting one or two giant monsters of the same breed in a quest. In MHP 2ndG, players are sometime required to fight three different kind of monsters in the same quest. For example, you may asked to kill Daimyou Zazami, Dosgaleos and Diablos in the same quest and in that particular order. The next monster will only appear after the first one is killed. Preparation is crucial in these quests and the game helps players survive by providing health recovery items when carving from dead monsters. Special rewards await those who succeed and nothing if players quit or fail the quest.

New Areas
Jyukai

The territory of Narugakuruga and taken from MHF with some adjustments, Jyukai (sea of trees) looks difficult to navigate with its huge trunks but there are areas of wide open space as well. Another creature confirmed to be in the map is Chachabu. Will Hipu from the same map in MHF be here as well? This area will host mostly Upper Class and G-Class quests and will be immediately accessible for those who transferred their save data from MHP 2nd but new players will have to make enough progress in order to see the area.
The rest of the new areas are actually taken from Monster Hunter Portable, the original PSP game. They are Old Volcano, Old Desert, Old Swamp and Old Jungle. The producer said there was actually plan to include them in MHP 2nd but due to time constraint, they were left out.

Media Install

Available as an option from the Game Menu, “Media Install” looks set to reduce loading in the game significantly. However, at least 1Gb of free space is required on the memory stick.

The “BG Load” option still available and can be used together with “Media Install” to make your hunting life easier when crossing between areas.
Guild Card

Previously Guild Card only contain some basic information of your hunting record but in MHP 2ndG, it’s a little more useful now. There will be one page for Otomo Ailu, diary of players activities in the game and a chart showing players how often they use all the available weapons in the game. More information and screens in this post.
Training School

G-Rank Training has been added.
Treasure Hunter

Players will be able to treasure hunt in the Jyukai map.
Underwear

Players can now change the color of their underwear, eventhough they can’t be seen most of the time unless you strip your character of his/her armors…
Kitchen

The random skills that the Kitchen Ailus can activate are more now.

While at the kitchen’s board, you can take things (especially dead fish) out of the Item Box straight away to get the Ailus to cook it for you.

You can take things out from the Item Box on the spot should a Kitchen Ailu needs any items.
Items Box

Items Box default size is now 800 (or eight pages), with maximum size of up to 10 pages. Also note that a slot can now store 99 herbs, this applies to all the items, so no more entire rows of herbs or mega potion.

You can now do items combination while viewing the Items Box.

You can have up to 20 sets of preset armors.
Buy/Sell

Items purchased can be sent directly to the Item Box.

You can now do sorting of your Items Porch after selling some of the items.
New Ornaments

New ornaments (or decorations if you play the English version).
Armors Upgrade

It’s now easier to upgrade your armors.

A new higher level and more expensive Armor Stones is added, it’s King Armor Stones. Looking at the gold needed, I’m not sure if I will use this very often.
Pokke Farm

New additional Mining Spot.

New additional Bug Field.

Should collection spots in the farm require any items (like net for fishing or bombs for mining), you can give them to the cat without having to run back to the Items Box as long as you have the items.

Torenya’s Boat will go to the new map Jyukai, and 1,500 Pokke Points is the limit for sending the cat out to collect items for you now. This is certainly a great upgrade.

You can send items straight to the Item Box from the mining spots.

The number of rounds left is displayed when fishing in Pokke Farm.
