Final Fantasy Agito XIII is fast becoming my most looking forward to game with every new information, of which the latest Weekly Famitsu has tonnes of them. From school life to all-out wars between four nations, Agito’s story is still mysterious and confusing at times. But from what I read of the fans translated scans, it appears that one of nation that worship Suzaku (a god based on a Chinese mythology), had its magic power neutralized and on the verge of losing its capital city to its neighbor. A group of students from the country’s magic academy, where they are undergoing training to become Agito, were forced to take up the responsibilities to liberalize the capital city.
Update: Updated with direct feed screens from Famitsu
The battle system is, as you probably know from earlier reports, a more advance version of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII‘s ATB system, in fact the gameplay screens shown so far has a Crisis Core look to them. Three characters can join the battle at a time, each wielding their own unique weapons (one of the screens show a character throwing cards, others show Muchi and Katana) and players can swap characters on the fly. Also known before is each character has his/her own summon and it will replaced the summoner to be controllable by the player. These summons can also be leveled up.
A few enemies design were also shown, they appear to be from a highly advanced nation, as the mechanical enemies has shown and again, they look the same style as the enemies in Crisis Core. Besides these army, players will also fight monsters from other regions.
