We knew some of the new features to expect from Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G from the latest issue of Famitsu, and now it’s time to check out how it actually looks like. Capcom is nice enough to put everything in the Famitsu report on the just opened official website for the sequel to the best selling PSP game in Japan. So now you can see for yourself how the new “Lightning Dragon” and “Floating Dragon” (both my translation, could be anything) look like, take in the beautiful scenery of the new map, check out the beautiful girl who will hand out those G-class quests to you, a cat who seems to took over the post of Village Elder and last but not least, your new hunting companion.
Not sure how the companion will works though, it seems to limited to single player only and appears to collect items for the hunter in one of the screens. Anyway it’s a cool idea as sometimes it’s just too boring having to run around the desert just to find out where Daimyou Zazami is hiding.
Additional info I missed out previously is maps from earlier games in the series will make it into the game, they are the volcano, desert, swamp and forest. All were revised for MHP and MHP 2nd but hunters will now be able to enjoy the original maps.
The price for the game? 4800 Yen (around $43), which is a little disappointing for me, Capcom better have more in store for the game than we already knew.
