Enterbrain: Monster Hunter Series Sales Data

Monster Hunter 5th AnniversaryTo celebrate the release of Monster Hunter G on Wii, Weekly Famitsu ran a small feature of the history of the series and shares the sales data of the series so far. Needless to say, the PSP games did a lot better. People keep saying that the PSP revival in Japan is largely due to the Monster Hunter Portable (MHP) series but it’s also true if you think the other way around, something MHP producer Ryozo Tsujimoto also mentioned before.

Also, according to Sinobi, Monster Hunter G looks set to sell over 100,000 copies in its first week after its 92,000 copies first day performance. Not bad for a port of a 4-year-old game.

    MOAR MONSTER HUNTER FOR PS3.
Like, 100% more, to be specific.
MH3 would appease the fans nicely.
Hell, multiplatform it if you can.

There’s a reason kickass games never get a good sequelling anymore.
People don’t fucking buy the originals.
Give the odd games a chance, folks.
The Okamis and Monster Hunters of the world won’t last if you don’t.

    Seconded!
Crapcom should make Monster Hunter 3 for PS3, they just saw the price of the PS3 console and BD disk and said they’re too expensive, so they went to Wii, it sucks!! (this is from 2007), and look at it now, PS3 is rising!
