Finally, Infrastructure For Monster Hunter?

More early information from syoboonline on this week’s issue of Famitsu PSP, to be confirmed when the mag come out. Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G appears to be the featured game in this issue, with plenty of new information on the sequel to the best selling MHP 2nd.
Reviewers have been critical of the game for its lack of online play (despite hundreds of players currently playing it on XLink Kai) and that seems to be the main thing Capcom Japan would like to address with MHP 2nd G as the game will now support online co-operative play via the infrastructure mode. Hunters will now be able to fight with friends from anywhere for quests in Guild Hall, Training School and Treasure Hunting.
I’ve previously written on the other upgrades that this sequel will be getting, but a few of the new monsters (Kirin Sub-Species) and areas (pantheon) were mentioned by syoboonline. Another notable enhancement, is the shorter loading time even without “BG Load” turned on. This is really cool as I personally never bother to turn the feature on, as it cut down the already short battery life. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto had said earlier that it will be a carnival-like game, I am really curious how that will turn out to be.
Update: syoboonline has since clarified that this information is false. However, the producer had previously mentioned some secret new elements will be added, so there’s still a little hope for this.
