Flying Monkeys For New Ape Escape

After its rather average racing outing, the latest Ape Escape for the PSP will features flying monkeys instead. Sarugetchu Saru Saru Daisakusen or Ape Escape: Saru Saru Grand Tactics according to IGN seems to take the platforming route this time and will be released in Japan this summer.

The story seems to focus on a equipment that went haywire with long time enemy Spector very much behind it, and for some reasons, fall on the head of our unlucky monkeys. Monkey with the equipment attached can be control by you and in order to save them, you will have to collect Nano Cards.

Players have to make use of various equipments in order to overcome obstacles like hard to reach places and enemies. The screens from Famitsu look pretty interesting, the cute monkeys can be seen wearing mermaid suit in order to cross a river and a Tarzan style jumping are among the tricks that our monkey heroes will be doing.

On the other hand, the official website has been refreshed with a new background story. Via Famitsu, PSPFanboy.

Update: Include a magazine scan from Famitsu.

[...] Fun Looking Ape Escape Screens Emerged There has been quite a few Ape Escape games for the PSP so far but I must say the newest one might be the most exciting yet. Called Sarugetchu Saru Saru Daisakusen in Japan (IGN translate that to Ape Escape: Saru Saru Master Moves), we haven’t seen much of the game so far apart from some magazine scans and the official website isn’t so helpful either. That ends now as Impress Watch has put up lots of direct feed screen from the cool looking action adventure game. Check out all the screens here or see the highlights here: [...]
