Japan Weekly Software Ranking (Mar 24 - Mar 30)
A little game by the name of Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G sold more than 800,000 in its first four days, topping the charts by a wide margin in the process (Capcom confirmed earlier that they have shipped 1 million copies of the game, the fastest in the series’ history). MHP 2ndG also pushed the PSP hardware to the incredible high of 139,000 units during the week according Enterbrain’s data. Amazingly, more than 7,000 people also bought Monster Hunter Portable 2nd, the game that MHP 2ndG is based upon.
Another notable entry in the Top 10 for the PSP is Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion - Lost Colors, which sold a little better than the PS2 version. Next week, with MHP 2ndG still going strong and Star Ocean 2 Second Evolution incoming, the PSP looks set to end the spring in style.
