Jump Festa 2008 PSP Round-up

Jump Festa 2008 ended yesterday, the PSP has gotten plenty of loves this year with Dissidia: Final Fantasy and Phantasy Star Portable demos generating long lines and impression of both games are so far very positive. Here’s a collection of pictures from the event.
Square Enix

With no less than four PSP titles based on some of their biggest franchises coming up, Square Enix has plenty of PSP materials to show. However, only Dissidia is playable with Star Ocean First Departure and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep appeared only in trailer form (Star Ocean Second Evolution is the other upcoming game, but was not shown in the event). The latter, together with the Final Fantasy XIII games, has a new trailer and was shown inside the now famous Closed Mega Theater.
Capcom

Producer Ryouzou Tsujimoto went on stage to share new info on the most wanted PSP game of the moment, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. However, Famitsu says they can’t revealed what it is now but apparently a new monster, new weapons and a new system were shown. This is also the game’s first real public appearance.
Sega

Phantasy Star Portable was surprisingly playable at the event and according to 1Up, it requires 100 minutes wait at times to just try out the game, this certainly bodes well for the Monster Hunter Portable’s 1st direct competitor. IGN’s Anoop Gantayat checked out the 4-player demo and fight a “giant red dragon”, he came away impressed with the game’s controls and graphics.
SCEJ

Sony brought Patapon, Minna no Golf Portable 2 and Bleach: Heat the Soul 4 demos while the recently announced Bleach: Heat the Soul 5 was shown as a trailer.
