Lunar Remake Looking Good In These Screens

Famitsu posted several screens from their mag report of Lunar: Harmony of Silver Star, the Game Arts “graphics power-up” remake of Lunar: The Silver Star based on both the Mega CD and Sega Saturn versions.
Refreshed Graphics
Players will be gathering info in the towns and head to the dungeons for battles. Enemies are visible on screen and battles are triggered by contacting them. The graphics of the original games were completely “refreshed” with the movie scenes and sounds remastered.
Story

Alex, the game’s protagonist, and his world changing adventure can now be enjoyed on the PSP. The remake will also includes new back story that never before told.
Battle System: Character Movement
A system retained from the first game, players have to be within a certain distance of the enemies for their attacks and defense to be effective. Also, unlike most RPG, your characters won’t return to its original position once they make an close-range attack, they will stay right in front of the enemies.
Battle System: AI Controlled Battles
A feature used in the Saturn remake, the AI can be set to carry out their own commands. The special move animations have been improved to make battles even more exciting.

Yep, it looks good. But it seems, people who saw this divided into like-dislike categories ^^’
Some love the new sprites style, some finds it no good.
But regardless, I hope this is the indication that they’re trying to revive this franchise.

About damn time, after that Dragon Song travesty…..
May 17th, 2009 at 2:53 pmGreat, i am one of those that love what has been shown so far. I dont really mind that the team behind this decided to go for a remake, at least it is not a port and i think it looks “fresh” enough. If the game is a success and they remake the second and then decide to make a new game for the series, i will be happy.
May 19th, 2009 at 2:38 amShould look better when in motion too :)
