Haven’t been excited about a firmware update for a while, in fact I only upgrade when a game or demo requires it, but installed the latest update for PSP Store and Mainichi Issho Portable. The store looks so smooth on the PSP and have no problems installing or browsing it so far on my near launch PSP.

Sony released a trio of games to coincide with the launch today, they are the aforementioned Mainichi Issho Portable (freeee!), Space Invaders (600 Yen) and Tsuukai!! Slot Shooting (600 Yen). I check out Sony’s mascot for a while (the cat is talking on the phone now…), struggling with the Japanese text but quite fun. Space Invaders includes Monochrome, Cellophane, Upright and Color versions and together with Slot Shooting, are playable on the PS3 as well.

Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida or 2 will be available tomorrow for 2,800 Yen (around $27, Play-Asia has actually shipped my copy today) and Bleach: Soul Carnival on Oct 23 for 3,800 Yen ($37).
