MGS PO: Portable Blog #11

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops: Portable Blog

Warning: Spoilers ahead.

Spent more time online, I realized that the other players alway have incredible amount of health, I must be too slow for good. And with my slow connection, it doesn’t help. So it’s time for the main mission again.

With a little help from Elisa, I find myself in the “Plant”, the location where the Metal Gear is stored, I am so eager to see it, I think the Metal Gears in the trailers for MGS4 are so stylish, I wonder how it will look like here. Little did I know that I am in for another boss fight, with the Metal Gear no less.

Yeah, this is a simple map, I think one can just run to the save point without getting shot. And after another cut scene, in which Elisa and her other twin sister Ursula turned out to be one, with Ursula overpowering her to control the Metal Gear against me.

Now the machine reminds me of my huge struggle with one of Killzone: Liberation boss fight, both look impossible to beat at first and both have bomb launcher and machine guns attached, not to mention the huge health bar that they both have. However, the Metal Gear is surprisingly a much easier opponent here.

Here’s how I took down my first ever Metal Gear. Her movement is quite slow, and she will go even slower if you hurt her enough, after which she won’t be able to float and it’s easy from then on. I just try to get myself as close as possible to the thing and every time she opens what I will call her wings, I just shoot with the auto aiming function. That should get the job done after a few minutes of shooting, just make sure you have enough bullets.
