When not hunting, most of my time in Monster Hunter Portable 2nd was spent looking at the weapons tree and how to make use of that rare bone from a super hard monster I just captured. The game’s expansion, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, will actually doubles the current amount of weapons. Some of them were shown earlier but that’s not all, Capcom revealed more weapons today from these screenshots. If you have not been following the reports, these ain’t exactly new weapons but an extension the the current weapons tree, with new attributes and effects.

Twin Blade

The Twin Blade can now has different damage effects each. The screens above show one with ice while the other is poison.

Bow

Two new bottles were added, one of them increase the damages of close range attack while the other is the paintball to track monsters.

Hunting Horn

Probably the most difficult weapon for me. The new additional tune is a high pitch sound that works like the Sonic Bomb, useful to draw those underground monsters out of the sand.

Bowgun

Successive Crag Shot can now can knock the monsters unconscious.
