New PSP Games Round-Up

Star Wars: The Force UnleashedStar Wars: The Force Unleashed: The third Star Wars game for the PSP casts players as Darth Vader’s “Secret Apprentice” and promises to “unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy”. While the next-gen versions appeared to spot some cool technology and directed by George Lucas himself, I am not sure how the PSP version will differ from them.

Spider-Man 3Spider-Man 3: The first Spider-Man game on the PSP was a rather uninspired outing for such a successful movie. The second will again based on Sam Raimi’s film Spider-Man 3 and will come out this May. So far there is very little details of this PSP version, check out the official website for more information.

Manhunt 2Manhunt 2: Rockstar revisits its library of controversial games again with a sequel to Manhunt, the title that was linked to a murder case (police later clarified that the motive was robbery). The chilling suspense and stealth game will seek to push the game design and storytelling forward in the sequel. The game is set to come out this June.

Aedis Eclipse: Generation of ChaosAedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos: No, still no announcement on Disgaea Hour of Darkness Portable, instead NIS is bringing another Generation of Chaos game for the PSP. Out in Japan last May and a port of the same PS2 game, Aedis Eclipse features three different worlds in which players will pick one and continue with the game, thus assuring certain level or replay value. The game is set to be released this April, or if you can’t wait for it to come out, Play-Asia has the Japanese version on sale for just $12.90.

Galactrix (PC Version Screen)Galactrix: From the people behind the Warlords series, Galactrix is being made for the PC and to be ported to the PSP later. It’s primarily a puzzle game but mixes elements from RPG and strategy games. Unlike regular puzzle game, you are up against an enemy instead of CPU generated screens.

Mushroom MenMushroom Men: New publisher GameCock Media first game, still far away from release and unconfirmed for the PSP. However, the visuals released so far is interesting and stylish. The game put players in the role of a Bolete Mushroom Man within a miniature world, armed with only common household trinkets and trash and join a spore factions war. More amazing visual at the website and IGN has posted a short video.

Godzilla: UnleashedGodzilla: Unleashed: Now you can play Godzilla on your palms as Atari is resurrecting the monster to the Wii, PSP and DS. You will be stomping on the world’s major cities and a nonlinear storyline that depends on the choices you make during the game. The game is being set for a year end release.

Brunswick Pro Bowling: Bowling must be one of the hottest subjects for mini-game, they are everywhere, from Tekken to Super Monkey Ball. And now there is a full game for it, Crave is bringing a Brunswick licensed bowling game to the Wii, PS2 and PSP. The game let you rise from an amateur to the top bowling pro via a career mode that has 10 tournaments. If you are worried that the game might just look like one of those mini-game, then fear not as Crave promised that the game will be as authentic to the real sport itself as possible.
