New PSP Games Round-Up
A little round-up of the recent new game announcements from various publishers for PSP. Including two new games about taxi…
Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars: Sega’s taking its popular taxi driving game for another ride. Now we can play a taxi game while riding one ourselves! In the game, players have to send their passengers to their destinations within a set time period. However, like all taxis, players have to look for the fastest paths in the game’s GTA-style maps. The game is basically an enhanced version of two previous Crazy Taxi titles, among the new additions are multi-player modes, a passenger-stealing feature and the coolest part is probably a function for you to record your driving and show it to your friends.
UEFA Champions League 2006-07: EA is doing extremely well with FIFA 07 in Europe, so it come as no surprise that another soccer game is coming out from the gaming giant. In UEFA Champions League 2006-07, you can form your ideal 32-team or take your team through the qualifying rounds to win the most coveted prize in European club football. Other features include replaying historical matches of past tournaments. The game is coming out this March.
Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary: The lovable puzzle game is 15 this year and Sega will release this anniversary version with 12 new game types. Players clear the stage by matching up Puyos of the same color. This will be Puyo Puyo third PSP game after Puyo Puyo Fever and Puyo Puyo Fever 2, the former was released in Europe last May. Puyo Puyo! 15th Anniversary will come out for the PSP, PS2 and DS on March 21st.
Guitar Hits: Many were disappointed when it was Guitar Hits and not Guitar Hero that is coming to the PSP. Guitar Hits is Ubisoft’s guitar tuition game based on popular songs. Even though the game will come out next month, very little is known of the game yet.
Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai Another Road: While there are no official words from Atari on the sequel to last year’s Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai yet, online retail stores are busy putting up the game, with exact release date of March 20.
Wangan Midnight Portable: Based on a popular street racing anime and not unlike another racing anime Initial D, this will be the portable version of the same PS3 game Wangan Midnight by Genki (the developers behind Street Supremacy and XBOX360’s Import Tuner Challenge).
Little Aid Portable: The Japanese love their love adventure games, PSP will have a few them, Kanon and Snow Portable are coming out next month. Takuyo is joining the fray with its own title. Only the game’s title has been announced so far and a heavy weight voice casts is expected.
Simple 2500 Series Portable!! Vol. 9: The My Taxi: While the West are getting Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars, the Japanese will have their own version of taxi game as well, albeit a much cuter version thanks to D3 Publisher’s 9th game in their Simple 2500 Series Portable!! series. A port of a PS2 game, the game put the players in the shoes of a taxi driver and achieve the set amount of earning to win the game. The PSP version will be enhanced with more customization options, which can be exchanged with fellow players via the Ad Hoc mode. More pictures at Famitsu.
Rezel Cross: Another eastern themed RPG from Sony, the Chinese version will come out next month. More information here.
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny: Rengou vs. Z.A.F.T. Portable: Only announced a few weeks ago and went straight to the most wanted list of many Japanese, this PS2 port will features plenty of enhancements and additions to keep PSP’s strong Gundam fans happy. More information here.
