This week’s Famitsu has a 4-page feature on the next big RPG to come to the PSP, Star Ocean First Departure. You should be pretty familiar with everything here if you played the game before, anyway here’s a few highlights based on the scans from Jeuxfrance.

My other most looking forward to game, Shirokishi Monogatari (aka White Knight Chronicles) for the PS3 was featured as well, click here to find out more.

Two female characters were introduced, Marven Frozen (shown above with her PA scene) is a woman of mysterious past with only revenge in her mind and the magic ball in her hand is her main weapon.

Perisie (shown above with her PA scene) is the other character being shown and she can transform into a cat!

The new elements were highlighted again, Production I.G. is working on the opening movie, redesigned characters, fully voiced cut scenes, the battle system is the enhanced version of Star Ocean 2’s system and new PA scenes.

Also revealed are the Skills system, the crucial element in your characters’ growth. A new skill has been added to Battle Skill and Star Ocean 2’s “Super Special Skill” (picture above) is now in the game as well.

Finally, a crucial chapter in the story, The Crimson Shield, is shown along with the key characters involved.
