P-TV VOD Service To End Soon

p-TVDespite their best efforts, Sony’s p-TV video on demand service for the PSP just don’t work in Japan and the company has announced that they are stopping the service from August 30th. Launched in July 2005, p-TV allows contents to be delivered from the official website to the PSP via wireless LAN, and the VOD service allows PSP owners to purchase copyright-protected videos for the PSP. However, due to the lack of subscribers, Sony decided to end the service for good and promised for better service in the future, proving that the critics‘s right about the service limitations. Let’s hope SCEE’s soon to be launched VOD service won’t suffers the same fate then. Via ITMedia.
