Play As The Bad Guy In Sony Latest RPG

Patapon has you play as god and now Sony has another game that will let you play as god of the villains. It must be good to be at SCEJ now, the amount of creative games that they are coming out with are getting bigger and better. “Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaiki da” or roughly translated as “For a Hero, You’re Pretty Impudent” by IGN or more like “Don’t get too cocky, heroes” to me is a pixelated looking 2D game that ask you to build dungeons out of blocks and take on the brave heroes that are visiting it. Read on for what makes the game’s concept sounds so cool.
Update: You can pre-order the game now at Play-Asia.com (Asia version only for now)

Famitsu has a few direct screens of the game now at their website and the report says the game want to break gaming general common sense by asking players to be evil. You will be the “Destruction God” and make progresses in the game through his view by digging up holes and place monsters in them to stop the heroes from getting near you.

From the screen above, the game switch to top view during gameplay and by digging holes in the dungeon, you can place monsters to defeat any invading brave heroes. There are the words “Army” and “Dig” on the lower left of the screens which indicate the fighting abilities of your monsters as a whole and how much is your “digging power” respectively. The PSP’s analog stick is used to move the pickaxe around and you can start digging at any spot by pressing the square button.

Monsters will take on the good guys automatically, however every monster has its own level, so sending a newborn monster to the front line will be suicidal. By keeping the monster ecosystem balance, you can produce enough nutritions and magic to breed the strongest possible monsters. Every victory will gives your monsters upgrade and I suppose it’s not just about digging as many holes as possible as the remaining “Dig” values will goes towards building a stronger army as well. A notebook of monsters you have created and heroes defeated is available as well, so looks like there are plenty of collection to do here.

The enemies, which are the heroes, are made up various job classes like swordsman, magicians or warriors and will normally enter your dungeon in a three members party. Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaiki da already has a release date and it’s Dec 6, so more screens and trailers should be available soon.
More on the game at PSPFanboy, IGN and Famitsu.
