Portable Ops+ For US This November

Here’s the covers for the Japanese version of Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops+ (picture above, left) and the game’s “Deluxe Pack”, which will ship on September 20th. No official announcement for the US version yet but Amazon already had the product page up with November 13th as the release date.
I wasn’t really keen on this initially but the extras and the $19.99 price tag really changed that now. One of the cool new stuff is the additional playable characters, which include Raiden, Old Snake (from MGS4!), Roy Campbell and even Johnny Sasaki! There will be new stages to fight in as well, but Kojima didn’t say how many, this could means more maps for online play as well. There will be a new recruiting system as well, it’s one of the features that I got really addicted to in the previous game and ended up having to release some of the recruits in order to get the new ones. Not sure how this new system will works but all your previous recruits can be carried over. There is a new single-player mode called “Infinity Mission”, not sure how it works as Kojima is keeping secret on this for now.
Beginners who are new to the game get a tutorial mode as well. However, I think you will need a game save of the original game or even it’s UMD in order to play this. This is where the “Deluxe Pack” came in as it includes both games, a cool looking box and an alternate cover for Portable Ops+. This Japanese version of the Deluxe Pack cost $44.90 at Play-Asia, but Amazon don’t currently has this item listed. Screenshots of the game via GameSpot Japan after the jump.
Pre-order Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops+ at Amazon.
