Save Sugar Village, Details On PSP’s New Harvest Moon

Bokujou Monogatari: Sugar Mura to Minna no Negai

Marvelous refreshed the official website of Bokujou Monogatari: Sugar Mura to Minna no Negai (Harvest Moon: Sugar Village and Everyone’s Wishes in English) today with a little bit more information about the game, I will expand my earlier report a little and see what we need to do to protect Sugar Village! This is an original entry in the series for the PSP, the first since they released Harvest Moon: Innocent Life two years ago. Set in scenic Sugar Village, you will be a little boy who come here to pick up your grandfather’s stuff after hearing that the village will be turned into a leisure park in two years’ time. However, after a nice encounter with a goddess, who will ask you to rescue the village, you decide take over your grandfather’s farm and work hard to turn the village around.

Characters

Bokujou Monogatari: Sugar Mura to Minna no NegaiFive characters were revealed so far, they are the main character, the goddess, Sarah, Laila and Alice. Sarah (yellow hair girl in the left picture) is the caring type and love the village very much, but she is very tough against outsiders. Laila is the owner of a flower shop and always smiling. Alice (standing to the right of the main character) is the boss of the company that plan to turn Sugar Village into a ‘Leisure Land’, she will come to the village occasionally to piss off everyone.

Multiple Endings

Bokujou Monogatari: Sugar Mura to Minna no Negai

As reported previously, there are many ways to save the village with the help of cut scenes like above. In fact, there are 16 different endings to the story depending on actions you’ve taken during the game. A total of 300 event scenes are said to be prepared in order to cater for these different endings. However, the game is still very much about experiencing the relaxing nature of farming, and even after these endings, you can still continue to farm until the cow come home. Another interesting point about the game is there will be seasonal changes and will affect what the villagers do and certain cut scenes only happen in a particular season.

Villagers will put up their requests on this board, success in these quests will improve the village further and your relationship with them. There are around 200 quests to be completed. You will be managing your village and look for ways to disrupt Alice plans in the process.

Your House

You can now find more items in your house and the TV programmes have been increased for more variety. Among the things to do in the house is to sleep (recover your energy) and change your cloth in the bathroom (to impress the girls).

Romance

Romance elements return to the game and you can date with girls that have good relation with you or in the case of tougher girls like Sarah, when certain condition is met. You will also encounter love rivals in the game.

Mini Games

Bokujou Monogatari: Sugar Mura to Minna no Negai

Besides farming and dating with the girls, there are plenty of other things to do in the game. These activities are presented like mini-games and include horse racing, lumbering, fishing, mining and bug collecting.

The game is currently more than 70% done and Marvelous promise it will be an ‘eventful’ Harvest Moon game on the PSP. Also it has been decided that the game will use Kurose Manami’s latest song “Love is…Shine” for the game’s promo movies and commercials.

Update: Added more information about the game’s total number of event scenes and quests based on Neowing product description.
