Star Ocean 1 New Screens

Star Ocean First Departure

Gpara has a little preview on Square Enix’s highly anticipated RPG Star Ocean First Departure, set for release on December 27 in Japan. So here are some of my favorites, together with a little information, or check out the source for more.

Star Ocean First Departure

Star Ocean First Departure is a remake of a classic RPG released back in 1996. The basic story and settings are still the same, but the game’s graphics has been remade and the battle system is now based on Star Ocean 2. There are many other changes that make this feels like a new game itself.

Famed animation house Production I.G. is working on the cut scenes and character design. Character cut-ins during conversation will now display different expression. There are new playable characters as well.

One of the main characteristics of the game, the “Private Action” (PA), will see plenty of improvements.
