Yes, it’s yet another port of Tales of games for PSP but since I haven’t played most of them, I actually don’t mind :) Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X (pronounce ‘cross’) is a compilation of two earlier Tales of games. The UMD will include the 10-years-old Tales of The World Narikiri Dungeon and a ‘Super Enhanced Version’ of Tales of Phantasia, which has been ported to PSP before.
Narikiri Dungeon X tells the story of 13-years-old twins Dio and Meru as they travel the world seeking for their origins. Namco says the main theme for the RPG is ‘An RPG of Truth’. Changing their costumes/job class will not only be reflected on screen but their skills will change accordingly too.
The battle system is called Cross Arts Aerial Linear Motion Battle System or XAR-LMBS and unlike its name, is actually very easy to use.
Depending on the enemies you are up against, switching costumes can sometimes make your job easier. There are more than 80 costumes to choose from in the game.
Albert is a talking wardrobe and appears to like Meru very much but always quarrel with Dio.
The long red gauge in the screen above appears to be some kind of brave meter that increases as your friendship with other characters improved.
On the other hand, Tales of Phantasia X Edition is yet another ‘enhancement’ of the legendary title. This time the improvements over Tales of Phantasia Full Voice Edition is smoother battle system and new scenario.
