TGS ‘07: Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G

Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G

Capcom dropped a bomb at their own booth earlier by announcing Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto told Famitsu that he is working on something with regards to MHP 2nd, and surprised the reporter by telling him it’s Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. I am not sure what the lengthy article says but it appears to be an expansion to MHP 2nd, just like Monster Hunter G to the original Monster Hunter when it was released in Japan back in 2005. Also mentioned is new and heavily “upgraded” monsters, new “G-rank” quests, new locations, save data transfer from MHP 2nd and 2008 is the release date, more information will follows.

Frequent visitors to this site know how much I love the series and even wish for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, so this is really the coolest possible thing to happens at TGS. More information at Famitsu.

Update 1: Updated with more information via GameSpot Japan.

Update 2: Gpara has more information from the Q&A session with Ryozo Tsujimoto. When asked about the release date, the producer said “it won’t be too long”. On the content, he said it will be a “carnival” with lots of new content. He also urges everyone to play MHP 2nd harder, as the save file will be carried over. Finally, he teased everyone with an all new system that will be revealed latter.
