Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G and Wii Fit are winners in the “Games of the Year Division” of Japan Game Awards 2008, the public voted awards organized by CESA and announced during Tokyo Game Show. Reasons for MHP 2ndG are “It’s been much more evolved from the previous work which made a huge hunting boom in Japan. ‘I’m so into it!’ ‘I never get bored!’ etc, this is the prize received with overwhelming support by a lot of users’ expectation.“. MHP 2ndG predecessor, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd, is the winner of last year’s awards, together with another Nintendo big hit Wii Sports.
