Totomono New Info

Ken To Mahou To Gakuen Mono

I am pretty excited at Acquire’s latest RPG Ken To Mahou To Gakuen Mono (Totomono is the official shorthand name), thanks mainly to the great fun that Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida provided. However, the company will be the publisher this time with Zero div the developers.

A Japanese online store has a small description of the title and I got a copy of Famitsu Taiwan with report on the game, so here’s what we know of the game so far.

Ken To Mahou To Gakuen Mono

Translated as Sword, Magic and Campus Mono, Totomono is an old school RPG with dungeons in campus and plenty of character customization options. Players begin the game by first creating their characters and form a party with six members. These characters can be from any of the 10 races (elf, fairy and dwarf were revealed so far) and 15 subjects (or jobs), up to 100 characters can be created. Once the basics are set, players can further customize their characters’ attributes & skills, magic and armors.

A party of up to six members can be formed before picking up a class to attend. A class is essentially a task with a certain goal for players to achieve. Besides their different attributes, characters can be good, evil or neutral but I’m not sure what kind of effects these will have during the adventure. There are other facilities in the campus such as shops and health recovering spots.

Once players are done setting up, the party will then set off to a dungeon (there are 86 of them) with the help of something called “Automatic Mapping Function”. No info on what it really does yet. Battles in the dungeon are turn-based and characters with higher “speed” attribute can act first. The rewards for winning the battle are experience points, gold, items and more.

The game so far looks interesting, although it’s not your typical RPG, the report says it will be easy to pick up even for the beginners.
