Way of the Samurai Going Portable
Way of the Samurai isn’t just going next-gen only but handheld too. However, PSP will be getting a port of the first game in the series with new elements and supports for 2-player battle via the ad-hoc mode. The game will be revealed in the upcoming issue of Weekly Famitsu with a half-page report. Besides the ad-hoc mode, of which the main characters from Way of the Samurai 3 will be available for selection, there will also be new weapons to use. The game is coming out this fall in Japan.
Way of the Samurai is a popular adventure series where players take on the role of a masterless samurai in the more chaotic period of 19th century Japan. Players have plenty of decision making (e.g which clan to join) that will affect the outcome of the game, of which there are seven of them.
It has been a while since we have a 3D adventure game from Japan so this is certainly a great news for us. Previous two games have been released in English, with Famitsu assure gamers that this will be more than just straight port, I’m hopeful that there will be a English version too.

One of them is something that no Japanese PSP games these days will be without, local multiplayer via the ad-hoc mode. The game is set for fall release in Japan, most likely before PS3’s Way of the Samurai 3 because the Famitsu report says players can check out videos of the next-gen version in the game. More information in this earlier post. [...]
