Weekly Famitsu: Robot Wars & Monsters Invasion

This week’s Weekly Famitsu (officially out this Friday) has six PSP games being reported, including three new announcements. Signs of more publishers regaining confidence in our system perhaps? The details and screens will come when the news or official websites went online late Friday or Saturday, but here’s a little preview.
Super Robot Wars A Portable, a port of a 2001 GBA title, is one of the biggest exclusive in the issue. The SRPG series from Banpresto has a huge following and this announcement, despite being only port, should generates plenty of interest in Japan. The port is currently 65% complete and slated for a June 19th release in Japan. Check out the scans at Ruliweb.
Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu is another big selling franchise in Japan, the annual update to the famous Baseball series in Japan will makes it portable appearance again this April with Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu Portable 3. Here are the scans.
World Neverland 2in1 Portable: The Olerud Kingdom Stories & The Waktic Republic of Pluto, phew… is that the longest ever title for a game? Anyway it’s two simulation games from the World Neverland series being combined and ported into one UMD and set for release this April. More about the games at Olerud and Pluto websites. Here are the scan.
There are a trio of follow up reports on the upcoming games. Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G gets another new monster from Monster Hunter Frontier, the online version of the series, more on this later this week. Star Ocean Second Evolution receives a release date, it’s April 2nd in Japan and Vantage Master Portable gets a quarter of a page in the magazine as well.
