What’s New In Elminage II?

PSP is fast becoming the home of old school RPGs and Starfish-SD just added another one to the library with the announcement of Elminage II: Sousei no Megami to Unmei no Daichi for release in Japan this summer. Inspired by Wizardry Empire series, the first game was released on PS2 and DS last year. The sequel appears to be PSP exclusive and will takes place on a completely new stage with new system added.
Create Your Own Party

Like the previous game, Elminage II is big on customization. There are 12 races and 16 job classes to choose from for your party members. These are available from the start and you can have up to 54 characters in your list. Certain job classes like Ninja also have their balancing readjusted.
Face Load

You can now use your own image for the face of your characters. Just save a 48×48 (256 colors) image into the Picture folder of your memory stick to start having your face featured in the game.
Dungeon Crawling
You will travel across the different areas of the continent the game is based on and visit dungeons of various settings to kill monsters and collect special items to make the world peaceful again. Besides the usual underground dungeons, Elminage II features dungeons set inside a building or outdoor environments.
Command Battle

The battle system is command-based, every character has his/her own unique skill which players can make use of. Besides the regular enemies, you will also battle a competing team of various NPCs sometimes.

Other improvements being made include more informative “Item Gallery” and function to save game data into the memory stick to improve load time. The game is currently 72% done and according to a GameWave report, it will comes out on July 23rd.
