Another lovely looking illustrated cover art from Japan, this time for Sony’s very own SRPG Wild Arms XF (or Wild Arms Cross Fire), which is set for Japanese release this August 9th. I wasn’t too sure about the game’s graphics initially (the hexagonal grid looks backward to me) but the latest screens via Famitsu seems reason enough to give this a try. It’s hard to say no to the clean and vibrant background and the cool characters design. Owners of the PS2’s Wild Arms 5 (Japanese version, obviously) can unlock extra scenes for the PSP version and 6 hidden bosses in the PS2 version. Click on the image for larger view.

There is no US date for the game yet but with the likes of Jeanne d’Arc, Disgaea and Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions coming in the next few months, I don’t think SRPG fans will complaint if this comes slightly later in the year.
