Only slightly more than a month before its release in Japan, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals another new feature for Macross Ultimate Frontier, the Nyan Nyan Shop. This is where players can make use of the Nyan Nyan Points they earn from clearing mission to buy things like characters, mechs, movies, wallpapers, titles, icons, BGM and also to unlock certain modes.

Also revealed in the scans (click for full view) is Real Flight Mode where players can enjoy the game like a flight simulator. Two new pilots and an operator are being introduced too. Bandai Namco To Announce Macross Ultimate Frontier

Don’t think anyone will be surprised with this, Macross Ace Frontier sold extremely well when it first launch in Japan last year and a year later, we are going to get a sequel called Macross Ultimate Frontier. Among the animes that are set to be included in the game are Do You Remember Love?, Flash Back 2012, Macross Plus, Macross 7, Macross Dynamite 7, Macross Frontier and Macross Zero. A couple of mechs from PS2 (Macross VF-X 2) and Dreamcast (Macross M3) games are also included.

The new elements include new characters, a new feature called “Missile Alert”, a new operator called Venon and also the inclusion of scenes from previous anime titles. Macross Ultimate Frontier is currently 70% done and coming to Japan this fall.

Hino: Danboru Senki & Ushiro May Get Their Own Animes

In a recent interview with Weekly Famitsu (issue 5/22, I translated it for the DS section), Level-5′s boss Akihiro Hino tells the mag that they are “seriously considering” animes or other medias promotions for Danboru Senki and Ushiro, the two PSP games that are part of the company’s 10th anniversary celebration. It will be like what they have done for their popular football/rpg hybrid , which has its own anime in Japan. Although it’s , their collaboration with Studio Ghibli, that constantly getting the attentions, Hino assures us that both Danboru Senki and Ushiro are currently deep in development, will be a “meaningful titles” and to be released “in style” sometime this year in Japan (Ninokuni will still be the first to be released).
