Monster Hunter Portable 3rd: Infrastructure-Supported & Out This Year

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, the announcement we’ve been waiting for is made and what do you feel about it? I’m glad this is not a direct port of Monster Hunter 3 (tri) (not that I played Tri but after more than 4 million copies MHP2nd G sold, we are still getting port?) and it will be out at the end of this year (of course Infrastructure support is always nice). Nothing really new from the initial trailer (above) but with at least more than 8 months to go before its release, I’m pretty sure that Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and his team will have something big in store.

Things are certainly not well between Zig and Faz (more here) in the latest Last Ranker trailer from Jump Festa 2010, which also showed some of the characters from the latest Weekly Famitsu report.

Ailus Wanted: Capcom Monster Hunter Spin-off Official Site Launched

MonHun Nikki Poka Poka Ailu MuraThese are the only screens Capcom willing to share with us for MonHun Nikki Poka Poka Ailu Mura on the just opened official site. As shown in yesterday’s Famitsu scans, the game lets you enjoy collecting Ailus while hunting cute monsters. Your base in the game will be Ailu Village and a couple of facilities, the Long House (where your Ailus sleep) and the Guild, are shown on the one-page website.

Last Ranker: Gangsters & “Ranking Director” Introduced

Last RankerGiven that Zig, the main character of Last Ranker, is ranked somewhere around 95,000 at the start of the game, there are plenty of opponents he has to take down before reaching the highest rank, so expect to see plenty of character intros in upcoming news of the RPG (my previous report here). The latest Weekly Famitsu report (no 480×270 screens yet unfortunately but the official website has been updated with these info) showed three more characters designed by Tatsuya Yoshikawa (Breath of Fire and Devil May Cry 4) and shared some info on how you rank up in the game.

Capcom Announces Monster Hunter Spin-off Title For PSP

On the final of today’s Monster Hunter Festa ‘09, Capcom made a surprise announcement that a new PSP title called MonHun Nikki Poka Poka Ailu Mura is coming soon. No further info is given but this will be a spin off title of the hugely popular series. From the title, which I will roughly translate as “MonHun Diary: One After Another Ailu Village” (pretty sure it’s wrong :), it sounds like an adventure game featuring the beloved cats.

Update: Added announcement video (via andriasang).

Last Ranker: Aiming For The Strongest RPG

Last Ranker: Capcom, Image Epoch New RPG For PSP

Last Ranker

One of the big features in this week’s issue of Weekly Famitsu will be Last Ranker, an RPG currently being developed at Image Epoch, the developers who have worked on several DS games that are currently part of my backlog and most wanted list ( Luminous Arc 2: Will, World Destruction: Michibi Kareshi Ishi & Seventh Dragon). The game tell the story of Zig who aim to become the top ranking fighter and the battle system appears to focus heavily on its real-time fighting mechanics. Check out the scans from the thumbnails below, full detail of the interview once I got the mag.
