MHP 3rd: Farming In Yukomo

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd

To be honest, I think I spent more time in the village of the previous games than actually hunting :) Crafting weapons, upgrading armors and farming are a huge part of the game for me. So I'm super excited at the new look village in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, which is now called Yukomo. The farm looks completely different now but all the facilities are still around.

The New Monsters of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd

Less than seven weeks before we'll find out how it's like to be fighting Jinouga, cover monster of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (MHP 3rd), in the night. The fierce (and odd) looking giant appears to have a completely new attacking mode in the night, shielding itself with a giant electric field that also send out electric waves randomly across the field.

There has been lot's of MHP 3rd information since my last post ages ago :) The following updates are up to and include the information from the last Weekly Famitsu issue that has MHP 3rd info in it.

Monster Hunter: 13-Page Famitsu Feature Part II (MHP 3rd Survey)

A recent of Weekly Famitsu asked 800 MHP fans for their thoughts about the announcement of Monster Hunter Portable 3rd in March. Not many surprises but the questions and a very small part of the responses are as below:

Note: Part of the feature interviewed the developers behind the Monster Hunter series, check it out here.

Monsters You'd Like To Fight Again In MHP 3rd

Yian Kut-ku

Yian Kut-ku (96 votes) is the clear winner here thanks to its role as a 'tutor' for new hunters. The bad-tempered pink-colored monster is always the first real monsters we have to face in MHP and will always left a lasting impression. MHP 2nd G's star Narugakuruga (62 votes) and MHP 2nd's Tigarex (54 votes) are 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Monster Hunter: 13-Page Famitsu Feature Part I (Developers Interview)

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd

Been waiting for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd? Hope this helps :)

A recent issue (well… 3 issues ago) of Weekly Famitsu has a big feature on the game with recycled information from their first report. But an interview with “core” members of the Monster Hunter series development team sort of make up for the disappointment of nothing really new. Read on if you would like to know what they have to say about the series in general. The result of a survey that involves 800 MH fans is also included in the feature. It doesn't have many surprises, but you can check them out in Part II of this post.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd: Fresher & Bigger Monster Hunting Experience

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd

MHP 3rd will betray the hopes of many MHP 2ndG fans, this is the 'new face' of the series that we hope to present” says Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto during a recent interview with Weekly Famitsu. “This is because we hope the game can be played with a 'new feel', surprise veteran players while keeping the series' experience intact at the same time. This is our goals for MHP 3rd.” Not an unusual statement from developers hyping their sequel but it keeps my hopes of seeing something radical in the new game alive.

Some of the things they are keeping include those interesting experience for single and multiplayer modes and the “portability” of the game. “Using these elements as a base, we hope to expand the gameplay further, incorporating more interesting moments when hunting and introducing new elements.” adds the now famous producer from Capcom.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd: Infrastructure-Supported & Out This Year

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, the announcement we've been waiting for is made and what do you feel about it? I'm glad this is not a direct port of Monster Hunter 3 (tri) (not that I played Tri but after more than 4 million copies MHP2nd G sold, we are still getting port?) and it will be out at the end of this year (of course Infrastructure support is always nice). Nothing really new from the initial trailer (above) but with at least more than 8 months to go before its release, I'm pretty sure that Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and his team will have something big in store.
