Monster Hunter Portable 3rd: Infrastructure-Supported & Out This Year

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, the announcement we’ve been waiting for is made and what do you feel about it? I’m glad this is not a direct port of Monster Hunter 3 (tri) (not that I played Tri but after more than 4 million copies MHP2nd G sold, we are still getting port?) and it will be out at the end of this year (of course Infrastructure support is always nice). Nothing really new from the initial trailer (above) but with at least more than 8 months to go before its release, I’m pretty sure that Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and his team will have something big in store.

Ailus Wanted: Capcom Monster Hunter Spin-off Official Site Launched

MonHun Nikki Poka Poka Ailu MuraThese are the only screens Capcom willing to share with us for MonHun Nikki Poka Poka Ailu Mura on the just opened official site. As shown in yesterday’s Famitsu scans, the game lets you enjoy collecting Ailus while hunting cute monsters. Your base in the game will be Ailu Village and a couple of facilities, the Long House (where your Ailus sleep) and the Guild, are shown on the one-page website.

This Is Our Next Monster Hunter Game Starring Ailus

MonHun Nikki Poka Poka Ailu Mura

After years of being a great helper (and to some extend, helped Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G to sell million of copies), the cute Ailus (or Airou) get their own game in this spin-off title called MonHun Nikki Poka Poka Ailu Mura for PSP. The game will have you collecting all kinds of Ailus by going to quests, where you will meet the cute version of monsters like Yian Kut-kut. Monster Hunter structures like the shops, farm and quest counters are in the game, and there will be some kind of data transfer with MHP2ndG. I know we have (or used to have :) a lot of monster hunters in this website, so What do you guys think?

Capcom Announces Monster Hunter Spin-off Title For PSP

On the final of today’s Monster Hunter Festa ‘09, Capcom made a surprise announcement that a new PSP title called MonHun Nikki Poka Poka Ailu Mura is coming soon. No further info is given but this will be a spin off title of the hugely popular series. From the title, which I will roughly translate as “MonHun Diary: One After Another Ailu Village” (pretty sure it’s wrong :), it sounds like an adventure game featuring the beloved cats.

MH Freedom Unite Official Website & Encyclopedia

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

Capcom launched a couple of websites for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (aka Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G) recently and they both looks amazing, one of the best game website I’ve seen for a long time (same with the game’s cover actually). This is especially true with MHFU official site, which no longer a direct copy of the Japanese version like Monster Hunter Freedom 2. Hope they make it more useful by updating more frequently and don’t just leave it at that (like MHF2).

Encyclopedia Gigantica, on the other hand, seems like a community site for the series (building up for Monster Hunter 3?) but there’s not much info there now. Although it looks great, it’s certainly a weird design for a resource site, the pages took a while to load with the large background and Flash animation. Also, I would expect a lot of information in future but the text area seems to only have room for 20 lines of text before users having to make use of the custom scroll to read more, which is what I really hate.

Anyway, it’s an interesting approach to market the game and the series in general. Hope the currently Japan-only Ad-Hoc Party will be ready soon, I think that will be of bigger helps than the websites and the even weirder videos.
