This shouldn’t be too surprising but really nice to know that Phantasy Star Portable 2’s heroine Emilia will make her guest appearances in Valkyria Chronicles 2… only if you own both games as the latter will look for PSP2 save data in your memory stick before unlocking missions with her in. There will be two missions for her and the rewards are stickers to customize your tank.

One of the winning entries for the recent Phantasy Star Item Design Contest will be available for free on the Japanese PSN tomorrow. Time to give your male CAST in Phantasy Star Portable 2 a new look.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 is out today in Japan and Sega didn’t wait long to release the first Download Mission for the highly anticipated title. The mission is called “Fanta Quiz Mission” and it supports both local and Internet multiplayer. Players are required to answer questions related to the game’s collaboration with Fanta, so could be hard for non-Japanese speakers. Only started the first game recently (loving it a lot), so will get the game later.

Next Thursday will see three big PSP releases (not as big as New Super Mario Bros. Wii obviously :) and Weekly Famitsu has given their verdicts of the games. Both Phantasy Star Portable 2 and Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam Next Plus are equally good according to them, as the panel gave them an impressive 34/40. PSP2 get an extra 1 point compare to the first game while Gundam vs. Gundam is 2 points better than the original. Fans of Tokimeki Memorial 4 (screen above) will be pleased to know that the game receives 33/40 from the four, who also gave Mario’s latest adventure on the Wii a perfect 40/40.

Looks really cool isn’t it? And you can actually start playing the game (in Japanese) now as the demo is already up on the official website (direct link here, file is 353Mb). Famitsu posted some new screens as well on their website, check them out after the jump.

Didn’t keep in touch with the amount of enhancements that Sega say they are making to Phantasy Star Portable 2 but this video looks to have cover them all.

As the above picture from the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu shows (click for larger view), there are six weeks to go before the Japanese release of Phantasy Star Portable 2 but Sega ease the pain of waiting a little by announcing that a demo will be available for download on November 1st, which is also the launch of PSPgo in Japan.

The demo will allows us to check out the first chapter of the game, a couple of game modes (Free Mission and Versus Mission), local multiplayer (level cap at 15), Infrastructure play for selected players and check out part of the collaboration items. Your save data can be carried over to the actual game when it’s release this December.

The official Japanese website of Phantasy Star Portable 2 has quite a bit of information right now, including this great looking trailer which introduce us to the world of PSP2 with scenes from the opening movie. Also another nice theme song (called “Living Universe”) right there by Hideaki Kobayashi.
