Tenchu Kurenai Portable is one of the six “Portable Series” for PSP from From Software and is set for release January 2010 in Japan.

It’s literally Tales of VS Tenchu San Portable as the latter just received its official release date earlier today, August 6th, the same as the former. Tales of VS. cover doesn’t look too impressive for me at first but upon viewing the larger version (right click and save if you want), I think it looks good but could be better. From Software’s design for Tenchu San Portable is perhaps a little too busy for good.

Game Watch has plenty of screens for Tenchu San Portable (aka Tenchu 3 Portable), including those that show off the new elements for the PSP version. The game will also includes all the new additions found in the Xbox version (Tenchu: Return from Darkness or Tenchu San: Kaiki no Shou in Japan).

Not sure what prompt From Software to announce not one, but FIVE ports to the PSP at the same time. Although I think Armored Core 3 Portable was a clear indication that these titles will come to the PSP sooner or later. Great news for newcomers and fans of the series, I would like to check out the AC ports especially. Tenchu San Portable’s (or Tenchu 3 Portable) PV above grabbed from the newly opened official site.

Done playing Tenchu 4? Now check out Tenchu San Portable :) It looks like the game From Software is teasing right now is the second port of Tenchu 3, which first appeared on PS2 and later Xbox 360. The game will be out this August in Japan.

Update: Apparently, we are in for more ports from the company. Armored Core Silent Line Portable (Nov 2009), Tenchu Kurenai Portable (Jan 2010) and Armored Core Last Raven Portable (Mar 2010) are all announced somewhere in the mag. Also, Fu-un Shinsengumi: Bakumatsu-den Portable, the samurai action game featuring the design of Metal Gear Solid’s Yoji Shinkawa, is set for release this December.
