This is an 8-level mode that player must complete at one go, failure at any of them means restarting at Level 1 again. The objective is to protect the “Destruction God” against the incoming RPG heroes, who get stronger every level. Each level is on the same huge underground grid, but don’t worry if it sounds boring because how the level, or the dungeon, looks will ultimately depends on how player dig their routes. So no single level is the same no matter how many times you play the game. As a result, there is no real strategy on how to get pass a level because it all depends on the digging, the creatures available or just your luck. However, there are some useful tips that will make your task easier.

Know The Food Chain

The above image might looks boring but it’s actually hold the key to success in the game. See the seven soil blocks near the bottom of the screen? A normal soil block can goes two way, but both can create creatures strong enough to take you to the end.

Nutrition

I find it easier to take the “Nutrition” route (those going right), simply because soil with moss on them are everywhere from the get go. Clicking on them with the pickaxe will release a moving creature that looks like slime. These slimes can upgrade normal soil to one with moss or if you wait a little longer, it will then turn into soil with white specks that when clicked, will release a Gazigazimushi (looks like white dog with red eye). Leave it longer and it might even turn into a strong Lizard Man (blue lizard with sword and shield).

A Gazigazimushi is good enough to kill the hero of the first level but in order to make it stronger, you’ll need to feed it with the slimes. The creature will then turn into a Chrysalis (white color cocoon) that will release a Gazifurai (the stripe flying insect), which is stronger but still too weak for most heroes after level 3. In order to finish the game with this route, you need the Lizard Man, and plenty of them. One tip is to keep some of the shining white soils until you’ve upgraded your Lizard Man to Level 3 (upgrade can be done at the end of every level) so they are strong enough to at least stab on the heroes a few time before they died. But if feed them enough Gazigazimushi, they will be really strong and even the last heroes can’t get near the Destruction God.

Dig Clever

It’s tempting to just dig to the deepest possible level and hide our big mouth Destruction God there. While this strategy will probably takes you till Level 6, it’s not going to hold long from then on. The key here is to fill the route to the hiding place with as many twist and turns as possible. Also it’s best to keep the paths narrow with only one square but many branching that takes them nowhere or better still further away from their goal. Last but not least, try to reduce the amount straight route, create routes that more like staircase. This is easy for the slimes to touch on them as well.

Creatures Leveling Up

At the end of each level, you’ll be taken to the “Monster Upgrade” and “Stage Result” screens. Here you can upgrade your monsters, each upgrade requires different amount of points. My advice is to not spend all the points as extra points will add to the amount of Dig Power you have in the next level, it’s also important if you want to achieve high score in the Story Mode.

Creatures Reproduction

This is one of the best ways to get Gazigazimushi, the slimes (missing in the illustration here) can’t get out of this trap and it will just keep fertilizing the block at the center. Once Gazigazimushi is out, its food (the slimes) are ready, making it somewhat well prepared against the heroes. However, it’s also an effective predator, it will simply eat up all the slime in its path, so too many of them is definitely not a good idea.

This is the fastest strategy to get a Lizard Man. Just let the slimes (again, missing in this illustration) rotate around the block at the center and soon enough, an effective fighter is born. Remember Lizard Man needs plenty of Gazigazimushi, so it’s best to have enough of them around.
